Home Management Binder

Inspired by Kim (found over at Transitus Tiber), I’ve decided to make a go and create our own little Home Management Binder (henceforth referred to as the HMB). I found a terrific post on the ‘meat and potatoes’ of what’s inside Lizzie’s HMB over at her blog, and to be honest, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed! I know it’s a process and we’ll get there with being all orderly and having everything done in nice-and-clean printed spreadsheets, but for now it’s all going to have to be me and some lined paper. Which will work just as good, so I don’t know why I’m fretting!

This weekend Jared and I stopped out and got our supplies we were missing to create our HMB, and before the week is over I’m hoping to have everything together and in place. We really need the help this HMB can provide, so I’m anxious to start using it, and yet I don’t want to until everything is in place and organized. I just told Kim the other day that I’m one of those people who either has to be hyper-organized or my life ends up being complete chaos (which is what it is now!), and I suppose being a tad bit of a perfectionist doesn’t help any! Perhaps, while I’m getting our HMB ready for use, I should do a novena to Teresa of Avila? If there was ever a patron saint for perfectionists (who aren’t perfect), it’s her! Even Sister Mary Martha agrees!!

I actually just found a rather good prayer by another saint with a similar name (Thérèse of Lisieux) that may help me during this week as well.

May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
